My March hexies

I'm really addicted to EPP, and I can't resist a thing as long as it's about hexies. This month I've worked on my four WIPs. And I've started a new one, and finished one thing.

This zig-zag quilt has grown with five new blocks. More about it here.

Then I made the March block from The Hexie blog. Waiting for the next block tomorrow.

La Passion grows, but very slowly. I've joined another hundred hexies to it, and now I have 2000.
You can follow the progress on this EPP on my blog, and also find links to Grit, who made this pattern.

I made another hexie bag. These are so fun to make, and I think I'll do more of them later.

My butterfly quilt grew with six blocks. Funny that this is the same pattern as the zig-zag quilt.

Then I had to try BillieBee's stars. She had tempted me for a long time now, and I couldn't resist. And I already love the stars so much that I've thought about making them in different colours. I managed to make two green ones yesterday.

Hexies are fun and relaxing, and I recommend you to try. But you're probably already hooked since you are here at Hexagon Alley. You can find more about all these projects on my blog.

One Wonderful Wednesday - Flower Parts!

It's been a busy week. I managed to get all those basted on the way to the Pigeon Forge Quiltfest, and that's about it for this week!

One Wonderful Wednesday Flower

Yes, folks, it's another Wednesday! Where does the time go? Here's the little chicken made up into a flower. I'm cutting more fabric, but it seems I only have time to sew one a week! Here's proof we had a sunny day - I'll need the reminder as it rains a lot the next week or so!

One Wonderful Wednesday Flower

Building on last week's basting, I made this flower:

Did you see that was outside in the sunshine? Yay! It's mid-50s and sunny today! Yes, I had to piece the fabric to get that sixth bird, but that's alright with me. In the whole quilt it may not show up much, and even if it does, so what? It is what it is.
I bought these last week to make more hexagons:

The two with white backgrounds are also for another project. I will have to see how well they work for the hexagons, but the red one with chicks is only for the hexagons. Linking with One Flower Wednesday.

Hi Susan, thanks for inviting me to contribute something to this blog. I am a patchworker that makes all my quilts by hand and I love hexagons, and used it in my very first quilt. I do all my quilts regardless of the size of the pattern pieces the EPP way except for my last quilt that was an Hawaiian quilt. The quilt shown here was started on the plane going to the US from South Africa to visit my twin brother in Texas and finished once I was home. I bought materials everywhere I was taken by my sister-in-law and my brother and it is a fun reminder of those happy days. It still needs quilting.

Linking Debby Kratovil

Twisted Hexagon pieces for the table - or half-hexagons. Whatever you choose to call them, Debby has put up pictures of two from a class she is teaching this spring. They are gorgeous! There are a couple of other hexagon projects she shows, too, so head over and check them out, maybe leave her a comment.
